From Failure to Triumph: My NEET Journey of Hope and Perseverance
Editorials News | Jun-22-2025
“Sometimes life doesn’t challenge you to break you, but to help you discover the power that lives inside you.”
When I first dreamt of becoming a doctor, I had no idea how difficult the path would be. My NEET journey was far from a fairy tale — it was a battle of three failed attempts, unbearable financial struggles, mental breakdowns, and finally, a taste of victory that made every pain worth it.
I come from a humble family, where money was always tight. My father couldn’t afford coaching or even the admission fees. I remember how painful it felt when he said, “We don’t have the money to send you again.”
That day, something inside me broke — but something else ignited too. A fire to fight for my dream, no matter what.
Self-study became my only option. I couldn’t join any coaching institute like most others. Instead, I collected old books, downloaded free materials, and started creating my own notes. I didn’t have a mentor — I became my own. Every day I would set goals, make mistakes, learn again, and slowly build myself.
What made it harder was the constant negativity from people around us.
Neighbors would say, “Still studying? He’s already failed three times!”
Some even laughed, “He’s just wasting his youth.”
But in the middle of this noise, one voice remained constant — my mother’s.
She never let me fall apart. When I cried, she stayed silent and placed her hand on my head. When I lost faith, she said softly, “You’ve come this far. Don’t give up now.”
Her words became the prayer I repeated every night.
There were countless moments when I wanted to give up. I would look at the NEET papers and think, “Maybe I’m not made for this.” But then I’d remember why I started — not to prove them wrong, but to prove myself right.
By my third attempt, I knew this was my last shot. I cut off all distractions, avoided all social media, and gave my 100%. I studied not for the exam, but for the life I wanted to build.
And then the result came — I had passed.
"Qualified."
One word.
But it carried the weight of every sleepless night, every ignored insult, every time I told myself, “Just one more try.”
I cried. Not out of sadness — but because I had carried pain too long. And finally, I won.
To every NEET aspirant reading this:
Let no failure define you. Let it refine you.
Let no money stop you. Use what you have, and make it enough.
Let no one’s words decide your worth. Only you can do that.
If a boy like me — with no money, no coaching, and three failures behind — can do it, so can you.
Dreams are not just for the rich or the lucky. Dreams belong to the ones who never give up.
I didn’t just crack an exam —
I conquered every reason life gave me to quit.
